What's buzz-worthy: Gold Standard takes the field once again with the familiar golden hues but some new touches atop them t0 go along with a new crop of rookies (last year's players in these mocks) and more to chase in on high-end spot.

The Basics: The base set (/99) for this one will include 100 cards, though you'll get no more than two per box and they'll sometimes be replaced by parallels -- see the breakdown below. There also will be 100 cards in the rookies portion of the set with autographed parallels there. ... Rookie jersey autos once again will have single-, double- and triple- swatch versions with parallels. Joining them among the hits are Gold Scripts, Gold Jacket Signatures, Super Bowl Diamond Signatures, Dual Super Bowl Diamond Signatures and Golden Shield Signatures as well as new Hallmarks and Au autographs. Memorabilia card sets will include Hall of Gold, Gold Gear, Gold Rush, White Gold, Mother Lode and Golden Pairs. Those will have prime parallels (/49 max) down to 1/1 copies. ... Among "new super-rare inserts" are Opulence Rookies, Double Eagle and Liquidity cards. ... Boxes carry an increases suggested retail price of $200. ... Note: The rookies seen here are mocks to show how new NFL rookies will be seen in their pro uniforms.
