What's buzz-worthy: The fifth edition of Illusions on the gridiron appears to jettison the encased card approach but follows the familiar formula with some new touches and, of course, plenty of new names.

The Basics: Boxes will include 10 acetate inserts or parallels as well as five parallels per box along with the base cards and hits. ... The base set once again will include 100 cards with the past and present all in the mix with an array of parallels (see gallery). A rare pull will be Trophy Collection Wild Cards pairing past greats with today's stars. ... Acetate cards will include King of Cards, Illusionists, Shining Stars, Clear Shots and Mystique for starters. ... Rookie Endorsements autos will have hobby-only ink variation SPs, while other huts will include Limelight Signatures, Deja Vu and Rookie Idols dual-mem cards, First Impressions RPAs and Rookie Reflections dual patches. ... These carry an increased suggested retail price of $22.50 per pack ($225 per box).
