First Buzz: 2021 Panini Select football cards

What's buzz-worthy: Select is back on the gridiron with a massive 400-card base set, plenty of parallels and more within a colorful lineup of inclusions that's got "more parallels, inserts, and unique content than ever before."

The Basics: Boxes will include 10 Silver Prizms, five other Prizms and six insert cards each time just like last year. There will be one Zebra parallel card per case. The base set will include 400 cards with a number of parallels for each of its tiers -- Concourse, Premier Level, Club Level and Field Level. See the gallery for a full breakdown there. ... Among the hits will be jumbo rookie signature swatches, rookie signature memorabilia and jumbo rookie swatch cards for starters. There also will be Hot Boxes (what that means wasn't detailed) that can include Black Prizm NFL Shield rookie signature swatches. For inserts, there will be Phenomenon, Color Wheel and Firestorm cards -- all three hobby-only finds -- along with Snapshots, Sensations, Artistic Selections and Future Franchise cards. There will also once again be XRC cards for players taken in this year's NFL Draft. ... Boxes once again carry a suggested retail price of $250.

Update (Jan. 31): There also will be H2 boxes for this release with four six-card packs inside (20 boxes per case). There will be two Silver Prizms per box along with four Disco Prizms. Autographs will be found two per case with a rundown of parallels there and for the base cards seen in the gallery below.
