What's buzz-worthy: Allen & Ginter returns for another summer of new retro-styled cardboard with some familiar touches, some new chases and, well, plenty of unexpected cardboard from this long-running brand.

The Basics: The base set will once again be the familiar 300 cards capped by 50 short-prints -- all with an array of mini and full-size parallels. There will be Hot Boxes again, too, with Silver Hot Box parallels inside and 1/1 Glossy parallels for the full-size cards (but not for SPs). For the minis, which are one per pack, there will be the standard lineup of A&G backs (1:5), Black (1:10), no-numbers (/50), Brooklyn (/25), Wood (/1; hobby-only), Glossy (/1), Metal (/3; hobby-only for 150 players), Cloth cards (/10 for 150 players) and 1/1 printing plates. Also back will be the Mini Stained Glass (/25) variations for 150 players. SP minis will start at one in 13 packs and have most parallels ... The Relics are again back with a few design types. There will be full-size Relics and framed mini Relics and joining them will be DNA Relics (fossils /25), and "mythical" Relics (too-good-to-be-true items /25) as well as 100 1/1 framed Ginter buyback cards.  ... On the autograph front, there will be 20 1/1 cut autograph cards as well as the standard framed mini autos with Black Frame parallels (/25) and Red ink versions. Joining them will be autographed Relic books and dual-auto Relic books (/10 for both).

Rip Cards are back two per case with standard and double Rips as well as Boxloader Rips. Inside these will be original art, mini exclusives (351-400), mini Metal exclusives (/3), 1/1 mini Wood exclusives and 1/1 Stained Glass variation minis -- those also found one per box-topper Rips. ... Standard inserts are again a totally new lineup this year. There will be Historic Hits, T51 Murad Reimagined cards (with /51 Cloth parallels), Rallying back (previously endangered animals), Deep Sea Shivers (Shark Week on cardboard! with /10 Relics), Arboreal Appreciation (trees) and Birds of a Feather (parrots). For mini inserts, there will be Far, Far Away (celestial bodies), MLB Mascots in Real Life, Good For You (health tips?), World's Largest (big stuff on mini cards), Hats Off (great hats) and World Leaders. ... Rounding things out will be box-toppers, including standard cards, topper autos (/15), World's Largest Boxloader (/500), and then N43s, N43 autos (/15) and the box-loader Rip Cards.
