What's buzz-worthy: MLS cardboard arrives once again with a new look at the league's stars, some throwback inclusions and, of course, hits from the pitch.

The Basics: The base set will be 200 cards with the last 25 being Pitch Prodigies (rookies) just like previous years. The first 175 cards will have these parallels -- Blue (/99), Gold (/50), Orange (/25, hobby only), Red (/10) and 1/1 Black parallels. Meanwhile, the last 25 cards will have just Orange, Red and Black parallels at the same volumes. There will also be image variations in play with those only having a 1/1 Black parallel. ... Among the inserts are Big City Strikers, Flags of Foundation (international stars), Team Spirit and a 1981 Topps set. These will have Orange (/25, hobby only) as well as Red and Black parallels (same volumes). Strikers will be found one in 144 packs, while the others will be found four or six times per box. ... The hits will include MLS Relics (/TBD) with Gold, Orange and Black parallels (same volumes) while Nameplate Patches (/4) cards will be in the mix along with 1/1 Crest Patches. The autographs in this one will parallel the base set for selected players.
