What's buzz-worthy: Topps will be taking the college stars from men's and women's basketball -- and apparently some international club members, too -- to Chrome with the debut Bowman University basketball release.

The Basics: The base set of this one -- 100 cards -- will include a number of parallels that include standard Refractors, Shimmer, Pink, Purple (/399), Purple Mini-Diamond (/399), Aqua (/299), Aqua Wave (/299), Blue (/199), Blue RayWave (/199), Fuchsia Mini-Diamond (/150), Pink Wave (/125), RayWave (/100), Green (/99), Green Lava (/99), Green Shimmer (/99), Yellow (/75), Gold (/50), Gold Shimmer (/50), Orange (/25), Orange Shimmer (/25), Red Shimmer (/10), Red (/5) and 1/1 Superfractors as well as 1/1 Black Shimmer cards. There also will be image variations for some players. A pair of inserts are known from early info (retail) with Skyscraping and 2009 Bowman (a 1948 re-do). Each will have Aqua (/150), Orange (/25) and 1/1 Supers. ... Joining them in hobby will be Bowman Invicta cards with Lava (/150), Orange (/25) and 1/1 Supers, while The Big Kahuna cards will be one in 288 packs with only Oranges and Supers to chase for parallels. ... There also will be autographed versions of the Skyscraping cards (/99) along with the 2009s (/99) and Prime Signatures (/50). Standard ink will have Refractors (/499), RayWave (/99), Green (/99), Yellow (/75), Gold (/50), Gold Lava (/50), Orange (/25), Orange Shimmer (/25), Red (/5), Red Shimmer (/5) and 1/1 Supers. Parallels for the insert autos will have only two colors -- Orange (/25) and 1/1 Supers. Insert autos in hobby boxes also will include Bowman Invicta (/99) and The Big Kahuna (/TBD) also only with the two parallel colors.
