What's buzz-worthy: Optic hits the court once again with the established formula that NBA fans have come to expect but with the new rookies, some new touches and plenty of parallel power.

The Basics: There will be 20 insert or parallel cards per box atop of the auto and the base in this one just like previous years. ... The base set will include 200 cards capped by 50 Rated Rookies with parallels that will include parallels such as Photon (SP), Basketball, Orange (/199), Lime Green (/149), Red (/99), Pink Velocity (/79), Blue (/49), Black Velocity (/39), Gold (/10), Green (/5) and 1/1 Gold Vinyl versions. ... Rated Rookie autographs will have Holo, Blue (/49), Black Pandora (/25), Gold (/10), Green (/5) and 1/1 Gold Vinyl versions for starters. ... Among the inserts will be Elite Dominators, All- Stars, The Rookies, Lights Out, Star Gazing and Raining Threes also with parallels (not detailed in full). ... Boxes once again will carry a suggested retail price of $250 ($12.50 per four-card pack).

Update (March 24): There also will be Fast Break boxes of this one with on autograph per 10-pack box (20 boxes per case) and with 18 inserts. These will carry the circles texture with parallels -- Fast Break Holo, Purple, Red, Blue, Pink, Gold (/10) and 1/1 Black -- in play as well as Fast Break Holo versions of the inserts -- Elite Dominators, All-Stars, The Rookies, Lights Out, Star Gazing and Raining 3s. ... Autos will have Fast Break texture applied, too, with Fast Break Pink (/25) and 1/1 Fast Break Black parallels for Rated Rookies and then there also will be Fast Break Signatures cards for past and present stars.
