First Buzz: 2022-23 Panini Contenders basketball cards

What's buzz-worthy: Contenders arrives for the NBA collector once again with a smaller box format but all of the new rookies as well as some new looks for the long-running brand.

The Basics: Each box will include 10 inserts (inserts, parallels or variations) along with base cards and the hits. There will be The Finals Tickets, Championship Tickets, Playoff Tickets with varying finishes and parallels for rookies and veterans. Cracked Ice was among the teased finishes but neither were detailed in full in advance for this one. There also will be short-printed Season Ticket cards and Premium Edition autos with Gold (/10) and 1/1 Gold Vinyl parallels. ... Among inserts here are Lottery Ticket, Superstar Die-cuts, Suite Shots, Rookie of the Year Contenders, Ticket to the Hall and among rarer finds will be Permit to Dominate and License to Dominate cards. ... Just like last year, the base set size was not detailed. ... Hobby boxes once again will carry a suggested retail price of $150.
