What's buzz-worthy: Elite arrives for a new season with its familiar foilboarded approach, plenty of parallels and patterns as well as new Rookie Cards (last year's players in mocks here) and more to chase.

The Basics: Boxes will include at least three Rookie Cards, six parallels and 11 other insert cards with the hits and base just like last year. ... There will be 100 cards in the base set for this one with even more cardboard included as the Rookie Cards will top those (parallels detailed in the gallery). ... One especially rare parallel this year will be the Razzle Dazzle cards (above). ... Among the hits will be Pen Pals (last year's rookies on mock) with variations possible as well as Turn of The Century autos and Moxie jersey cards. ... Among the inserts will be a set of 2002 Elite Throwback cards, Star Status, Playmakers, Rookie Elitist, Elite Deck, Rookie on Deck and High Life. Case-level finds will be A-List, Star Watch and Whiz Kids. ... Boxes will carry a suggested retail price of $150 ($7.50 per pack).
