What's buzz-worthy: Obsidian arrives once again for NFL fans with the familiar look but with new players and additions to a lineup that's very hit-driven.

The Basics: There once again will be one base card and two inserts or parallels per box along with the hits. The base set will consist of 100 cards with plenty of parallels (see gallery). Atop that, there will be 100 Rookie Cards that will also have autographed parallel versions in the mix just like this year's edition. ... Among the hits will be rookie jersey autos, rookie jersey ink cards (multiple swatches), Matrix Material autos, Magmatic Signatures, Lightning Strike and Aurora for starters. ... Among the inserts will be Orbital die-cut cards and Color Blast as well as die-cut Tunnel Vision, Vitreous, Eclipse and Supernova inserts. Also in play will be short-printed Contra cards just like last time. ... Boxes once again carry a suggested retail price of $200.
