What's buzz-worthy: Prizm hits the field once again with plenty of color and energy in its rainbow of parallels and this year that will include Hot Boxes, too.

The Basics: Boxes will include 12 cards per pack (144 per box) with three Silver Prizms, four Blue Prizms and five Red Prizms with one Hot Box per case including two Carolina Blue/Navy Blue Prizms in every pack (24 per box). The base set will include 270 cards with three tiers in play this time and with stars from the past and present all on the checklist. ... Among the other Prizm colors/types will be Tiger Stripes, Snakeskin, Gold and Forest Green Flash, but the full lineup was not disclosed in advance. There will be at least 18 parallels in play per card here. ... Among the inserts will be "ultra rare" Color Blast and Lava Flow cards as well as Fearless, Emergent, Lumber Inc. and Fireworks. ... Ink will include Signatures, Rookie Autographs and Pro Penmanship like in past years. The rookie set alone will include 110 signers, while Pro Penmanship will include some past stars. ... Boxes once again will carry a suggested retail price of $135.

Update: There also will be 10-pack Quick Pitch boxes for this release with one auto per box (20 boxes per case) that have their own exclusive "Donut Circle" texture when they arrive on Aug. 5. There will be 10 Donut Circle Prizms per box with Blue, Snakeskin, Red, Green, White, Teal and Bronze parallels teased among all types of cards. Boxes will carry a suggested retail price of $105.
