What's buzz-worthy: Panini opens its 2022 football card season with new college stars and past greats in their school colors, an autograph in every pack and some other inclusions that fans of the brand have come to expect.

The Basics: Boxes will include 40 cards with this year's version having eight Prizm parallels, four Silver Prizms and then the base cards and autographs. That breaks down to an autograph, a Silver and two other Prizm parallels in every pack. ... The base set will include 220 players with a number of teased parallels (Silver, Purple, Red, Blue, Black & Gold) but details were not broken down in advance for this one. ... Among the inserts will he Hype, Prizmatic, Prizm Break and Brilliance. Rarer inserts will be Color Blast and Stained Glass. ... Boxes will carry a suggested retail price of $200 ($50 per pack).

Update: There also will be H2 boxes for this one arriving on April 1 with six packs per box (20 boxes per case) ... boxes carry a suggested retail price of $75. They will include one autograph with five Prizms and two more Silver Prizms in a box. The base cards and autos here will have the "Circles" texture with standard, Red and Neon Green autographed cards and Purple, Blue, Red, pink and Neon Green sets for base cards.
