First Buzz: 2022 Score football cards

What's buzz-worthy: Score takes the field as this year's NFL lead-off brand with rookies in their pro threads -- look for 90 Rookie Cards per box -- as well as plenty of chase and other collectable cardboard in every box.

The Basics: There will be 40-card packs once again for this one with 10 parallels and 36 inserts in a typical box along with 90 Rookie Cards -- and there will be one lenticular insert and two base/rookie die-cut cards per case to chase, too. The base set will have 300 cards with each having nine parallels in hobby boxes (see gallery for breakdown) and the same will apply for Rookie Cards in this one. Rookie autos will also be in play here with parallels coming as low-volume creations -- nothing numbered over 50 copies. Among the inserts will be Toe The Line, Hot Rookies, NFL Draft, Fantasy Stars, Squad and Breakthrough for starters. Among the lenticular cards will be Intergalactic and Base Dynamics. ... Boxes will carry a suggested retail price of $120.
