What's buzz-worthy: The saga from long, long ago in a galaxy far, far away gets a ride on tobacco-style cards with stars from throughout the franchise included in the first wave.

The Basics: Ten-card packs (original cost $14.99 via Topps' site) will include two parallels from a rainbow of varying fronts and backs that includes Blue Star Field (one or two per pack), Star Wars Logo backs (one in three), Orange Star Field (one in five), Green Star Field (one in 10), Yellow Star Field (one in 15), Red Star Field (one in 20) and Black Star Field (1/1). And an added chase will be alternate character image SPs and home world parallel SPs (one in 30). ... In the first wave (total waves TBD) there will be SPs that include Han Solo in Carbonite, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Jawas and Finn for starters -- see all on the checklist link above. The first wave will include 50 cards and characters from throughout the various movies and TV shows.

Wave 2 update (Oct. 4): New in this one? Autographs ... Doctor Pershing, Jar Jar Banks, Krrsantan and Captain Panaka are in there. Exclusive inserts this time? Ten Planet cards, while 10 names will get Homeworld variants and 10 others will get photo variants. Among the notable characters in this wave? Darth Vader, Yoda, Chewbacca, R2-D2, Mace Windu, Jango Fett, Captain Phasma, Porgs and Darth Sidious.
