What's buzz-worthy: Topps' second round of college basketball cards for active college players once again will showcase college stars from men's and women's basketball all in one spot.

The Basics: There will be 100 cards in the base set with 10 players having image variations, according to the checklist (linked above). Atop that, there will be a 2007-08 Bowman insert set as well as Prodigal Playmakers, The Big Kahuna, Sharp Shooters, Let's Go, Sapphire Selections, Treasured Talent and then autographs. That lineup will include standard autos, image variation autos, 2007-08 autos, The Big Kahuna autos, Prime Chrome autos, Sharp Shooter autos, Prodigal Playmakers autos, Sapphire Selections autos and the dual-auto for LeBron James and Bronny James simply called "Footsteps." Among the signers will be the Jameses, Caitlin Clark, Hailey Van Lith, Angel Reese, Paige Bueckers, Stephon Castle, Justin Edwards and others who could be high NBA or WNBA picks soon.

Update: The base set of this one -- 100 cards -- will include a number of parallels that include standard Refractors, Shimmer, Xfractor, Pink, Purple (/399), Purple Mini-Diamond (/399), Aqua (/299), Aqua Wave (/299), Blue (/199), Blue Wave (/199), Fuchsia Mini-Diamond (/150), Pink Wave (/125), RayWave (/100), Green (/99), Green Lava (/99), Green Shimmer (/99), Yellow (/75), Gold (/50), Gold Shimmer (/50), Orange (/25), Orange Shimmer (/25), Red Shimmer (/10), Red (/5) and 1/1 Superfractors as well as 1/1 Black Shimmer cards. ... Some players will hav image variations. ... Among the inserts will be 2007-08 Bowman, Prodigal Playmakers, Sharp Shooters, The Big Kahuna, Let's Go Chrome and Hidden Gems. Parallels will be in play in varyign ways for all of these save for the variations and Gems. ... Standard ink will have Refractors (/250), Lava (/199), Green (/99), Yellow (/75), Gold (/50), Gold Lava (/50), Orange (/25), Orange Shimmer (/25), Red (/5), Red Shimmer (/5) and 1/1 Supers. Joining them will be Prime Chrome (/50) with only Orang and Supers, variation autos (/25) only with Supers and then inked versions of The Big Kahuna, Playmakers and 2007-08 cards with smaller rainbows of parallels. ...
