What's buzz-worthy: Obsidian arrives on the hardwood for the sixth time with top NBA rookies and plenty more to be found as part of this sometimes-colorful release.

The Basics: There will be two inserts per box along with two base cards and the hits. ... In the hits this time will be Rookie Jersey autos, Rookie Jersey Ink, Rookie Eruption autos, Matrix Material autos, Magmatic Signatures, Galaxy Ink, Volcanic Signatures and new Twilight Signatures cards. Among the new memorabilia sets will be Unbreakable, Eclipse Materials, Cutting Edge and Equinox Gear cards. ... Among the inserts will be Equinox, Orbital, Supernova and new Hotspot cards as well as "short-printed" Vitreous and Volcanix cards and "super short-printed" Black Color Blast cards. Parallels were not disclosed in full in advance but flood parallels promise to be "more prominent" in this release. Among the parallels for autos and inserts will be Electric Etch Orange Flood (/75), Purple Flood (/49), Gold Flood (/10), Deep Sea Mojo (/5) and 1/1 Vibrant Mojo cards. ... Base card parallels will include parallels, including the new Orange Flood (/99), Purple Flood (/49), Gold Flood (/10), Deep Sea Mojo (/5) and 1/1 Vibrant Mojo. ... Boxes will carry an increased suggested retail price of $250.
