First Buzz: 2023-24 Panini Prizm basketball cards (updated)

What's buzz-worthy: A new season of Prizm NBA arrives with plenty of color and flash, some new looks and plenty of young star power and top-tier rookies to chase.

The Basics: Boxes will contain 22 Prizms and 10 inserts atop the two autos just like last year, while the base set size and parallels were not detailed in full. White, Snakeskin and Black Gold will be hobby-only parallels for starters. ... Among the autographs will be Signatures, Sensational Signatures, Rookie Signatures and Franchise Favorites. There also will be new Red, Blue and Snakeskin parallels for those. ... Insert sets will start with Fireworks, Luck of the Lottery, Kaleidoscopic, Fractal and Prizm Break, while Prizmania will be rarer "SSP" finds. ... Each 12-card pack will carry an increased suggested retail price of $37.50 ($450 per box).

Update: There also will be Fast Break boxes for this one with one autograph per 10-pack box (20 boxes per case). Each one will also include 12 Prizms, six inserts and one rookie variation just like last year. Fast Break parallels include Fast Break standard Prizms as well as Blue (/150), Red (/100), Purple (/75), Pink (/50), Bronze (/20) and Neon Green (/5). Fast Break Autographs and Fast Break Rookie Autographs will carry their own unique design atop the texture applied to all cards here and parallels will include at least Red, Blue and Gold versions.

When will the hobby boxes be affordable for the common people like me... Been collecting since the 80's... Every since the pandemic prices have been ridiculous. Still buying cards but have to go the retail route cards are not as good as hobby boxes. Makes me wanna sale everything and get out of the hobby all together.
