What's buzz-worthy: Contenders Optic drops for a new year with some new inclusions, new stars, some new looks and plenty of colorful autographs with big-pull potential.

The Basics: A typical box of this one will include two autographs, two base cards, one insert and one Season Ticket or Rookie Ticket parallel card. ... Among the finds will be Rookie Ticket RPS auto, All-time Contenders autos, 2003 Contenders Throwback rookie autos, 2013 Contenders Throwback rookie autos and 2010 Contenders Tribute autos. Also in there will be rookie patch autos and, for starters, insert sets that include Legitness, Now Contending, Up and Coming, Optic Illusions, Splitting Image, Lottery Ticket and First Class Ticket. ... Parallels will be in play across the board on all but were not detailed in advance -- some of the colors/textures will include Neon Marble, Blue, Black Scope, Gold Vinyl and Nebula. ... There will typically be one Rookie Patch Autograph per case as well as one case-hit insert from the Induction Ticket Autographs, Legitness and Now Contending sets. ... Boxes carry an increased suggested retail price of $275.
