What's buzz-worthy: Gold Standard drops for a new season with the familiar golden touches and plenty more to chase for rookies (last year's players on mocks) as well as stars of the past and present.

The Basics: The base set (/99) for this one once again will include 100 cards, though you'll get no more than two per box and they'll sometimes be replaced by parallels -- see the breakdown below. There also will be 100 cards in the rookies portion of the set with autographed parallels there. ... Also back once again will be rookie jersey autos with single-, double- and triple-swatch versions with parallels. Joining them among the hits are Alchemist autos, 24K autos, 10K autos, Gold Jacket Signatures, Super Bowl Diamond Signatures dual-auto cards and Midas Touch autos. ... For memorabilia cards, there will be Heart of Gold Threads, Gold Gear, Gold Rush, White Gold and Mother Lode. Each will have prime versions (/24 max) and 1/1 "premium" parallels. ... Opulence rookies also return here as an insert for another year and joining team are new "case hits" called El Dorado cards. There also will be 14K gold Golden Ticket cards. ... Boxes once again carry a suggested retail price of $200. ... Note: The rookies seen here are mocks to show how new NFL rookies will be seen in their pro uniforms using last year's players.
