What's buzz-worthy: Topps revisits T206 tobacco cards for a second time this year with the same new format that was used for the previous series of this one.

The Basics: Not all details are here yet, but just like the previous series , there will be eight base cards and two parallels per pack. Among the chase elements will be 1/1 background variations. A list of signers was teased in advance for this one and is linked above.

Update: Boxes are $54.99 (original Topps price) or $254.99 for five. The set this time is 150 cards and each will have back variations -- Piedmont, Polar Bear, Uzit, Carolina Brights, Sweet Caporal, Tolstoi, Wood stock (announced /20), 95 Morton (announced /25), Blank Back (announced /10), Interleague Logo (announced /5) and 1/1 Ty Cobb backs. New for this series will be American Beauty image variations for 15 players, missing black plate cards for 15 players, a Seattle All-Star Game background for 30 players, 20 T205 players and 50 1/1 background variation cards. All are detailed on the checklist link above. ... The base set will be a mix of past and present players with some of the notables including Roy Campanella, Mike Trout, Willie McCovey, Anthony Volpe, Mariano Rivera, Kenny Lofton, Tony LaRussa, Dale Murphy, Aaron Judge, Roberto Clemente, Kirby Puckett, Bo Jackson, Johnny Bench, Albert Pujols, Greg Maddux, Willie Mays, Ken Griffey Jr., Ty Cobb and others.
