What's buzz-worthy: Allen & Ginter drops once again with all the eccentricities, plenty of baseball players and a new retro design based on some of the 1880s tobacco card designs that helped bring some of the first baseball cards to the masses.

The Basics: The look is new old but the formula here is pretty much on par with the nearly 20 years of this franchise under Topps with a mini in every pack, three hits per box and then an array of unusual and non-traditional inclusions just as collectors found on their tobacco cards back in the day -- a little bit of everything. ... The base set will once again be 300 cards capped by 50 short-prints. Each will have a new Filigree parallel (one per box; likely the Harris card) as well as Silver Hot Box parallels and 1/1 Glossy parallel cards to chase. Minis will have A&G backs, Black, No Number (announced /50), Brooklyn (/25) and 1/1 Wood versions as well as 1/1 Glossy minis. Some players will have metal minis (/3) and Stained Glass minis (/25) with both sets 150 players each. There also will be Cloth (/1) for 150 players and printing plates for each card.

Relics will be found as full-size cards (two designs) as well as minis and joining them will be fossil DNA Relics (/25), framed 1/1 buybacks and 1/1 cut autos. ... Autographs also will be the standard formats of the past -- framed minis with black-frame (/25) and red-ink parallels -- as well as autographed books (/10_ and dual-auto Relic books (/10). ... Rip Cards are also back -- two per case -- with a mini inside as well as dual-rip cards with two minis in those. Also to be found will be box-topper Rip Cards with three minis inside. Each also could have an original art piece, exclusive mini SPs numbered 351 to 400, metal minis, 1/1 Wood minis or Stained Glass, which will be at least one per box-topper rip.

Inserts for this one will include Allen & Ginter In Action variations -- two per case -- as well as Spotless Spans (strong MLB showings or streaks), Talon-ted (large birds), Music To Your Years (instruments), Fun In The Sun! (summertime activities), Save Room For Dessert, By Any Other Name (other "Allens"), Rarest Of The Diamond, Only In ... (stadium quirks), Word Of Wonder (UNESCO World Heritage Sites and International Delights (foods). There will be six potential kinds of box-topper finds here with A&G jumbos and autos (/15 max), Only In ... (/500), N43s, N43 autos (/15 max) and Rip Cards.
