What's buzz-worthy: The full info for the flagship release of Topps baseball cards arrives with a similar approach to the past but also plenty of new looks and new stars on cardboard.
Keep reading for more info.
The Basics: The base set for this one will include 330 cards with each having at least 16 parallels -- Gold foil (HTA only), Rainbow foil, Gold (/2,023), Green Foilboard (/499), Orange Foilboard (/299), Red Foilboard (/199), Vintage Stock (/99), Independence Day (/76), Black (/72 Hobby/HTA only), Mother's Day Pink (/50), Father's Day Powder Blue (/50), Memorial Day Camo (/25) Clear (/10) and 1/1 Platinum along with printing plates. A new twist for this one will be "limited short-printed" Golden Mirror Image variations with a new image and "golden stock" for all cards.
Among the inserts will be One-Two Punch (pitching duos), Welcome to The Club (30/30, 40/40 and 20/20/20 Club members), 2022's Greatest Hits (key hits), All Aces, 1988 Topps, Heavy Lumber and AKA (nicknames). The first four sets will have Blue, Black (/299), Gold (/75), Red (/10) and 1/1 parallels as well as autographs for some players (/10 max). The 1988 cards will have Blue (announced as 600 copies), Black (/299), The Real One parallels on retro stock (/88), Gold (/75), Red (/10) and 1/1 Platinum versions. The Heavy Lumber cards are printed on wood stock, while AKA cards will just have a standard version and are "limited." Home Run Challenge cards are also back one per box in both formats. Box-toppers will include 1988 Topps oversized cards with some having autographs (/TBD).
Commemorative Relics will be found one per jumbo and one per hobby case -- City Connect Patches and Patchwork of The Past cards -- with City having Black (/299), Gold (/75), Red (/TBD), Platinum (1/1) and autographs (/10 max). The Past cards will be limited to /399 on the standard version with Gold, Red, Platinum and auto versions. ... For Relics, there will be World Series Champions (/99), Postseason Performance (/99) with both having Red (/25) and 1/1 Platinum versions. Along with them will be 1/1 In The Name Relics as well as Major League Materials with Black (/199), Gold (/50), Red (/25) and 1/1 Platinums. The same will be in play for 1988s.
For auto Relics, there will be Topps Reverence Patches (/10) with Red (/5) and 1/1 Platinums. There also will be autographed Major League Materials, World Series Champions and Postseason Performance cards that will all be /50 max. They will have Red (/25) and 1/1 Platinum parallels. ... For standard autographs, there will be Baseball Stars, Baseball Stars Duals (/TBD), 1988 Topps, World Series Champions (/50 max) and Postseason Performance cards (/50 max). The Stars and 1988s will have Black (/199), Gold (/50), Red (/25) and 1/1 Platinums. The rarer ones will only have Red (/25 max) and 1/1 Platinums. There also will be 1/1 cut autographs to be found. There also will be a number of 1/1 sketch cards.
Silver packs also return inside boxes -- one per hobby, two per jumbo -- with Chromed cards as well as parallels and autographs potentially inside them.
