What's buzz-worthy: An obscure NBA release of the early 2000s gets a run on the baseball diamond as a premium-box brand initially sold online beginning later this week with "an emphasis on rookie talent and high-quality card construction."

The Basics: Each box will include five basic cards on 48-point stock limited to no more than 99 copies and then two autos also with a cap of no more than 99 copies. Cards will be "emblazoned with intricate foil technologies," according to the company. Beyond that, there will be at least one insert set -- Xtra-Large -- found one in 10 boxes. Parallels and other details were not revealed in advance for this one beyond the image seen above. ... Boxes carried a $199.99 initial price from Topps with a limit of 10 per buyer.

Update (Dec. 14): Parallels will include Crackle (/75), Iridescent (/49), Circuit (/25), Cyber (/10), Plasma (/5) and 1/1 Motherboard. Xtra-Large insert cards are limited to 25 copies but have 1/1 Heather Gray parallels to chase as well. ... The base set includes just 75 cards with 35 of those being rookies. Among the subsets are 10 Clubhouse Complements dual-player cards and 10 Providential Preludes. ... Among the autos are Adley Rutschman, Anthony Volpe, Corbin Carroll, Michael Harris, Ronald Acuña Jr., Rafael Devers, Ichiro Suzuki, Albert Pujols and a cast of younger stars.
