What's buzz-worthy: Donruss drops for a new season with plenty of colorful inserts and parallels as it showcases today's stars while also including plenty of nods to the past with a modern-retro design.

The Basics: Each hobby box of this one will include 54 insert cards (12 of those parallels), 18 Rated Rookies Rookie Cards and the hits as well as the base with 10 cards per pack this time. The base set will include 400 cards -- 300 veterans/legends and 100 Rated Rookies -- with "a vast and colorful array of parallel chases" that were not detailed in advance this time. ... Among the hits will be Rated Rookie autos, Rated Rookie Retro autos, Gridiron Kings autos and All-time Gridiron Kings autos for starters. ... Among the inserts will be Gridiron Marvels, Downtown and Crunch Time cards. ... Boxes carry a suggested retail price of $240.

Winter Tins: Arriving on Nov. 15 will be 15-card tins for this one (30 per case) with those carrying a $15 suggested retail price. They will be the home to exclusive Purple Press Proofs (three per tin) and Purple Rated Rookie autos. Downtown inserts also will be in play here among other inclusions.
