What's buzz-worthy: USA Baseball's cards drop for a new year with a one-pack box once again that's almost nothing but hits as it showcases a deep crop of aspiring stars and young standouts.

The Basics: In hobby boxes there will be Gold Lightning and Black Lightning parallel cards for the 200-card base set. There will be one parallel per box along with the hits -- base cards will be found in other formats for this one. Who's in play in this release for the hits? The stars of the Collegiate National Team, 18U National Team, 16U/17U National Team Development Program and 15U National Team. Hits will include jersey auto-mem cards and batting glove auto-mem cards with prime pieces in play as well as jumbo memorabilia cards sometimes showcasing flag patches and Panini sleeve logos. There also will be an eight-player The Future Is Now autograph card with some of the top prospects in this one all together in one spot. ... Also included in this one will be cards for The U16 Team Australia National Junior Squad, Canadian Junior National Team and Chinese Taipei National Team. ... Rounding things out will be Kaboom! inserts. ... Boxes once again will carry a suggested retail price of $100.
