What's buzz-worthy: Pieces of the Past turns back the clock too the 18th century for a look at the notables of the 1700s with a new twist in play -- Hot Boxes and Hot Cases -- for its products.

The Basics: Hot Boxes will have Kaleidoscope Mirror cards inside and carry a rainbow foil look (vs. black for standard boxes) on the outside. They will be found anywhere from one to 10 times per case -- so, yes, there are Hot Cases in play. All cards are made with rainbow look with 100 base cards having Silver Mirror, Red Mirror (/50) and Gold Mirror (/10) versions along with Cracked Ice 1/1s. Atop that, there will be 100 relics to chase with singles, jumbos, duals, triples and quads among those finds. A sampling of the subjects can be seen in the gallery below and they include Alexander Hamilton, Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Samuel Adams, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Isaac Newton and others. ... Regular boxes carry a suggested retail price of $79.95, while Hot Boxes carry a $99.95 SRP.
