Gallery: 2018 Topps Archives The Sandlot baseball cards

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]While the hobby shop arrival of 2018 Topps Archives waits until next month, today's the day where the retail boxes of this retro-minded brand arrives -- and that means one thing that we've not seen in packs of cards before.

The Sandlot's stars.

The basic insert set for this one includes Scotty Smalls, Alan 'Yeah-Yeah' McClennan, Kenny DeNunez, Tommy 'Repeat' Timmons, Hamilton 'Ham' Porter, Michael 'Squints' Palledorous, Benny "The Jet" Rodriguez, Bertram Grover Weeks, Timmy Timmons, Wendy Peffercorn (despite her non-player status) and Hercules the dog who has a taste for Babe Ruth-signed baseballs.

The autograph set includes 10 autos -- sorry, no Hercules or The Jet -- as well and they're all found in the retail version. Could there be more surprises to come in hobby boxes next month? It's possible, though we have no details there just yet.

Five of them made the cut for the Topps Coins inserts also found in retail boxes (blasters last year) with them worked into the 25-coin checklist alongside Major Leaguers.

We previously got a teaser of these with All-Star versions of their cards in the 25th anniversary Blu-Ray and an autographed card from Squints during an appearance at the National Sports Collectors Convention earlier this month.
