Getting the call gets collectors bonus in 2018 Bowman

Collectors ripping into packs of 2018 Bowman at retail will find an insert card that offers an interactive experience as well as  a shot at something more.

As long as their prospect gets the call.

It's the Bowman Big-League Breakthrough set and it includes 40 players who were waiting to make their MLB debut at the time this one was created. (At least one is already a winner.)

Topps teased the program on Tuesday in advance of Bowman's arrival on Wednesday. They won't be easy pulls, either, at one in 164 standard packs and one in 75 jumbo packs.

Now, about those prizes -- here's what the rulebook says ...

"If the prospect identified on the Game Card makes an official appearance in an official 2018 Major League Baseball regular-season game, as recorded by the official scorer of that Major League Baseball game and sanctioned by Major League Baseball, each eligible person who timely registered a Game Card identifying that prospect will win one Baseball Player Debut Prize of a Bowman Big League Baseball card of that prospect."

No more than 250 copies of each player will be made with a maximum of 10,000 cards in all if they were all to debut. In the event that more than 250 codes are entered, there will be a drawing to determine the 250 winners.

Those who enter winning cards also will have a shot at a pair of other prizes as long as they keep their card and have it when they win the big one. The First Prize drawing -- there will be 10 winners -- will be a set of 43 Bowman Chrome Prospect Autographs. The Second Prize drawing -- there will be 75 winners there -- will get a 150-card set of Bowman Chrome Prospect cards.
