Kevin Garnett autographs will return in Immaculate Collection

Panini America is putting Kevin Garnett autographs back in play.

The 15-time All-Star's time on the court ended back in 2016, but it's been far longer than that since basketball card collectors have had any substantial amount of ink to grab for this future Hall of Famer.

That all ends soon with his new ink coming in 2018-19 Panini Immaculate Collection, which arrives next week with three autographs in every box.

A checklist has not yet arrived for this one, but Panini teased at least two sets where Garnett will be found -- Marks of Greatness and All-Time Greats -- where he will have ink. Both sets' standard cards will be limited to just 49 copies.

The last time Garnett had any substantial amount of new certified autographs arrive was back in 2009 but even then most cards were limited to no more than 50 copies. He appears on roughly 700 past certified autograph cards -- a low number for a player of his caliber -- out of more than 7,500 different basketball cards made since he was fresh out of high school in 1995.

Garnett played 14 seasons with the Minnesota Timberwolves, six seasons with the Boston Celtics and two with the Brooklyn Nets, averaging 17.8 points and 10 rebounds a game. He was the 2003-04 NBA MVP, the 1995-96 Rookie of the Year and a member of the 2007-08 Boston Celtics who won it all with Garnett joined by Ray Allen, Paul Pierce and Rajon Rondo. Garnett is eligible for the Hall of Fame in 2020.
