One of the biggest sports cards ever made may soon ascend to its much-talked-about throne.
The 2020-21 Panini Flawless LeBron James Triple Logoman will hit the auction block this week via Goldin where it is being touted as a contender to break the all-time sales record for any sports card ever made -- that's the $6.6 million paid for a T206 Honus Wagner. The auction will begin on Wednesday via Goldin.
"The LeBron James Triple Logoman card is the undisputed holy grail of modern cards," said Goldin Executive Chairman and Founder Ken Goldin. "For months, collectors have clamored to claim this uniquely alluring masterpiece and for card collectors, there have been a small handful of cards that are considered the pièce de résistance of the hobby. We are truly proud to offer this item and now it can be yours."
The card, which features the one iconic league patch found on one of James' Cavaliers, Heat and Lakers jerseys all in one place, has been removed from its sticker-sealed Panini case as it was found in a Flawless briefcase and placed into a PSA slab where it has been noted as authentic but was not graded.
"Goldin was entrusted to handle the sale of this incredible item due to the company’s sterling reputation as the leading marketplace for trading cards, collectibles and memorabilia," Read a company statement. "Over the years, the company and Ken Goldin have sold more than $1.5 billion in memorabilia from many of the biggest names in sports, history, and pop culture, setting countless records in the process. Goldin has also handled multiple record-breaking and seven-figure sales for other world-class LeBron James trading cards."
