The Mets added a few stars to their baseball family with a single pick in the first round of the MLB Draft on Wednesday night.
USA Baseball alum Pete Crow-Armstrong went to New York with the 19th pick in the draft, giving fans a new name to chase -- and he's got quite a bit of cardboard already thanks to USA Baseball.
But he's not alone in his family when it comes to trading cards and certified autographs.
His parents are actors and both have had their share of roles through the years -- and both appear on certified autographs, too.
Ashley Crow has been a big-leaguer's mom -- well, a big-league owner's mom -- before as she was Billy Heywood’s mom, Jenny, in Little Big League, the 1994 movie that had a kid end up controlling the Minnesota Twins. It wasn't until her role in Heroes as Sandra Bennet, the mom of the cheerleader that needed saving to save the world (and the mom of Mr. Muggles), that she got trading card appearances with certified autographs. She appears on three different signed cards from 2008 Topps Heroes Series 2 and in 2010 Rittenhouse Heroes Archives -- cards with and without the dog.
Matthew John Armstrong also appeared on Heroes -- eight episodes -- and that was enough to get him some cardboard as well as three episodes of American Horror Story as Detective Byers. He has just one autograph per show with 2010 Rittenhouse Heroes Archives and 2016 Breygent American Horror Story Asylum sets. The AHS card can be found with different color inks for the autos as well as inscriptions.
Neither of them come close to the USA alum, though for autographs as their son already has more than 230 different autographed cards and roughly 300 total baseball cards thanks to USA stuff from Panini America and Perfect Game cards from Leaf Trading Cards. His earliest ink can be found on Contenders autos in 2017 Donruss Elite Extra Edition and in 2017 USA Baseball Stars & Stripes as a member of the 14U and 15U teams, and he's had USA cards each year since also found in those releases and elsewhere. His lengthy name has prompted his autographs to shorten over time so some of his earlier cards might be of more interest, though even then signing on stickers was a challenge.

Are there other athletes where both parents appear on certified autographs?
The only ones that come to mind for Buzz would be NFL Hall of Famer Howie Long and Diane Long the parents of Chris Long and Kyle Long, who both made it to the league. Joining them would be Joe Montana, Jennifer Montana and son Nick Montana, though he never made it to the NFL (but did have a few auto cards). The past 1991 and 1992 Pro Line NFL Spirit cards showed players' wives and included ink to help make those happen. Know of others? Let me know ...
