Minor league baseball cards from the past can include some weird stuff ... stuff you wouldn't imagine to be found on a baseball card. Here are some some new oddities in this latest edition of MiLB Madness

THE BULL BATS LEAD-OFF
The Card:
Wool E. Bull 2015 Choice Durham Bulls #30
The Buzz On This One: You may know the team and mascot from Bull Durham -- technically it's not the same bull as he has a name now and only arrived in 1992 -- but this furball's card leads off here for another reason. That Daytona 500-style grip on the wheel got me looking at mascot cards I had stockpiled and I noticed a trend ... they really like to drive. Whether it's ripping around the warning track in a Frontier-branded kart like this one, or some heavy hardware like you'll soon see, there are a lot of baseball cards in minor-league team sets out there just like this ... and it's all pocket-change stuff.

Keep reading for more examples of weird baseball cards you can (almost) only find in MiLB.

THE GENERALS' GENERAL ... ERR SARGE
The Card:
 Sarge 2012 Grandstand Jackson Generals
The Buzz On This One: This guy's card back softens his military image here -- he's apparently big on kids' reading programs -- but a lot of his cardboard shows him with tanks, jeeps and other heavy equipment you might not expect to see at the ballpark. If you're wondering, Sarge is a bulldog and he's turning just 12 years old somewhere out there this year. Why do I say it that way? Well, the Generals remain in limbo as of 2020 with a lease issue requiring the stadium to be used by an affiliated team -- something like that. The ownership group hosted the Winnipeg Goldeyes for their "home" games there last season. No matter what, the cardboard lives on.

OLD-TIMEY TRANSPO
The Card:
 SouthPaw 2013 Choice Tri-City ValleyCats #35
The Buzz On This One: Read the back of this 1984 Topps hockey-inspired card and you'll see this cat gets around ... but I'd bet all that auction isn't likely happening on this Model-T-style ride as seen here. (It would have to be too slow-paced.) This one had no explanation for the ride ... so I got nothin'. (Maybe it's his grandfather's ride? He's known as Pappy.) I should have gone for his 2018 card on a chopper now that I think about it ... could have made a Zed joke.

--

FISH OUT OF WATER
The Card:
Muddy the Mudcat 2012 Carolina Mudcats
The Buzz On This One: I'd like to say this baseball card is a unique one for this book club member and mascot ... but it's not. A quick search of his cardboard shows a half-dozen cards showing him on wheels. I just want to know, given his name and type of ride, if all that ATV time includes some post-game mudding.

IT'S A CHOPPER
The Card:
 Gem 2012 Choice Dayton Dragons
The Buzz On This One: I picked this one up awhile back as she's apparently one of a couple of mascots for a long-running team that I think has one of the best logos in all of baseball -- not just in minor-league baseball. That's actually why I grabbed it -- anybody can find a Joey Votto Dayton Dragons baseball card ... but not everybody can find a motorcycle-riding dragon mascot baseball card.

--

OK, BOOMER
The Card:
 Boomer 2012 Choice Williamsport Crosscutters
The Buzz On This One: Look into his eyes on the back of this card. Would you want Boomer flying through the air in your direction? I didn't think so. Some sweet air on that Evel Knievel homage there, though.
