The time is now.
The 2018 Topps Now Road to Opening Day team sets have arrived on Topps.com and that means we'll see checklists fill out in real time as the highlights arrive during spring training.
The first set to show a card so far? The Los Angeles Angels and the first spring card for Shohei Ohtani -- and there is an autographed team set option once again this season, too.
The standard team sets are $49.99 and are available for the next 52 days -- at that time they'll be printed to order. The autographed set prices vary, though. The Angels? They're the top opener price-wise at $399.99 -- and if you order two sets you are guaranteed to either receive ink from Ohtani or Mike Trout. A purchase of four sets? That gets all four signers for the team -- Justin Upton and Troy Scribner are your other two.
Every auto set is guaranteed to receive one numbered and signed card (/99, /49, /25, /10, /5 or /1) and all signers will have cards among each grouping.
Those who buy sets also have a shot at bonus cards if certain achievements happen during the season. Here's a rundown of those for the Angels:
-- Angels place first in division at MLB All-Star Break.
-- Angels throw a no-hitter or perfect game during regular season or postseason.
-- Angels hitter hits for cycle during regular season or postseason.
-- Angels throws 15 strikeouts in a game during regular season or postseason.
-- Angels hitter hits three home runs during regular season or postseason.
