After five years, he has signed.

Atlanta Falcons receiver Julio Jones has signed his 2011 cards -- Rookie Cards that were all issued as redemption cards a half-decade ago.

"The folks inside the Panini America Acquisitions department never lost hope," read a statement on the company's blog. "And they never gave up. They kept working the phones, and remained in frequent contact with the NFLPA and Jones’ representatives in hopes of one day landing that elusive 'Yes' that would lead to Jones signing the thousands of key cards that had been safely in his possession since he received them during his rookie season."

The original art from an iconic story re-told in an iconic magazine will hit the auction block next month via Heritage Auctions.

It's a six-page story from MAD magazine issue No. 6 and it's Jack Davis' art re-telling "Casey at the Bat" in visual form.

"From the classic poem by Ernest Lawrence Thayer," the auction description reads, "the saga of the Mudville Nine and the mighty Casey are depicted in this story that was reprinted at least five times in other MAD publications. (Proving they were too cheap to pay for new material.) One of the finest stories ever produced by the Usual Gang of Idiots at America's premier low-brow humor mag."

"I must break you" will have a new twist next month as Ivan Drago becomes one of the Bleacher Creatures next month.

The Plymouth, Pa.-based company has revealed a line of six plush toys for the Rocky franchise, which is celebrating its 4oth anniversary this year.

Drago was of course the main opponent of Rocky Balboa in Rocky IV and he's not the only foe in the Bleacher Creatures lineup.

Chicago Cubs pitcher Kyle Hendricks took a no-hitter into the ninth last night in St. Louis but lost it when Jeremy Hazelbaker took him yard.

The result was still the same, though, as it was a one-hitter for his 15th win of the season, upping his record to 15-7 with a MLB-leading 2.07 ERA -- impressive stats for a guy who has just a single Rookie Card.

Shaquille O'Neal took his place among the newest members of the Basketball Hall of Fame this past weekend and it's his shoes, which are now available via Steiner Sports, that show he's still one of the biggest.

A limited run of O'Neal's size 22 Reebok "Shaq Attaq" Pumps are available via Steiner and the sheer novelty of a shoe that large is a big part of the selling point.
