This week's new release schedule is a bit icy, a bit historic and a bit patriotic despite there being just six products set to arrive in hobby shops.

Coming on Wednesday is 2015-16 Upper Deck Trilogy hockey, which will include one rookie autograph, one memorabilia card and one "premium" autograph per box. Among them will be Tryptichs like you can see above and variations based on stats and debut seasons. The wide mix of possibilities should make these eight-pack boxes ones that get ripped quickly.

Kevin Durant will remain a part of the Panini America team for an extended and exclusive amount of time after signing a new deal with the company that was announced on Monday.

The Oklahoma City Thunder star will be a global spokesman for the company's trading cards and its Panini Authentic memorabilia line -- an exclusive deal that applies with cards, autographs, marketing and business development.

“Kevin Durant is one of the most recognizable professional athletes in the world but he transcends the game of basketball,” said Mark Warsop, Panini America CEO, in a prepared release. “The way he carries himself on and off the court is as inspirational to us as it is to millions of fans throughout the world. We’re proud to be entering this new exclusive relationship with Kevin and the Panini family and look forward to a bright future with him. It's been more than five years since James "Lights Out" Toney set foot inside the Octagon at UFC 118 in Boston, but a piece of memorabilia from his fight against UFC legend Randy Couture is on the auction block beginning Monday via Goldin Auctions.

The piece? The former boxer's trunks worn what was his only MMA bout -- a first-round submission -- and it's extra Buzz-worthy because, well, look at it.

That's a one-of-a-kind piece of hobby history -- and there's an extra nod to MMA collectors because among Toney's sponsors for the fight was, if you haven't figured it out, Blowout Cards.

The NFL's postseason kicks off with four games this weekend and it seems each of them have players to watch when it comes to collecting football cards.

Here's one player from all eight teams Buzz says could be of interest -- some obvious, some not.

J.J. Watt -- The Houston Texans' defensive dynamo and part-time tight end is basically a household name with his bloody noses and his Papa John's commercials, but when it comes to autographed Rookie Cards he might be overvalued. He's one of very few defensive stars to really get attention when it comes to cards, so it would take a monster game against the Chiefs to make those Contenders Rookie Cards even better buys. Sorry for the bad news there. (Maybe him being able to successfully complete a pizza curl in a follow-up Papa John's commercial would help?)

Steiner Sports has landed the biggest rookie in New York these days for an exclusive autograph deal.

The rookie is Knicks star Kristaps Porzingis.

"It quickly became apparent that Kristaps is on to something special in New York," said Steiner Sports CEO Brandon Steiner in an announcement on Thursday. Collectors who submit certified autograph cards to PSA in the future will notice something extra noted on their slabs now if they opt for an added feature from the grading and authentication company.

It's a grade noting the quality of the autograph.

"PSA has long been in a unique position since we offer the top certification brands in both PSA trading card grading and PSA/DNA autograph authentication," said PSA President Joe Orlando. "For years, we have provided card and autograph grading services in separate fashion, but now those services can be provided in one complete package."
