Those questions are simple -- whatever gets the most votes is the winning answer -- and we've sprinkled in those along with the traditional picks. That's one thought with an early wave of Panini International boxes from Panini America -- no, it's not a new branch of the global collectibles empire, it's a new wave of packaging for a number of releases with exclusives inside to get cards into more collectors' hands around the world.

It's a push the company revealed in late-May a push that "will integrate many of best hobby elements – more exclusive parallels, inserts, autographs, memorabilia and more" in basketball, football and soccer releases.

Leaf Trading Cards will have some chase cards up for grabs at this year's National Sports Collectors Convention. 

The company revealed on Thursday its box-break redemption program for the show that kicks off next Wednesday in Cleveland.

A collector who opens a box of one of six Leaf releases at the company's booth during the show will get two promo packs made for this year's show.

This is quite possibly my best grab-bag buy ever.

This latest ball in the Collecting Game-used series is one where there's a franchise icon attached, an entire at-bat and even an impressive hit all in one. I can't say that I've ever landed that from what's essentially a blind grab-bag kind of buy, but that happened for me with a ball that was pulled from the field less than two months ago before making its way into my collection this week for just $29.95 -- substantially less than a Chrome blaster box out there in the retail wild and perhaps substantially less than it might cost as a known hit ball with the big name attached. The only thing I had a choice in here? I picked the date -- so I knew the two teams that would be attached and that's it.
