Panini America signs Luka Doncic to autograph exclusive

Luka Doncic is staying in Dallas.

No, that's not a trade-defying, on-the-court statement, it's the result of Panini America signing an exclusive autograph and memorabilia deal with the Mavericks star that was revealed on Thursday. That means a continued presence on Panini cards -- but no new ink elsewhere -- and then more Panini Authentic memorabilia signings.

“We’ve had a front-row seat here in the Dallas area and have watched in amazement as Luka’s style of play has made him one of the NBA’s most popular players around the world, and we knew he was going to be a major factor in attracting new collectors to the NBA trading card hobby,” Panini America CEO Mark Warsop said in a prepared release. “But he’s just getting started and we’re proud to welcome him to the rich fraternity of Panini America-exclusive athletes. This partnership is going to be something special.”

Doncic joins a team of exclusive players that includes Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Ja Morant, Anthony Edwards, Rui Hachimura, Charles Barkley and Kobe Bryant for starters.

“As a kid growing up in Europe, Panini stickers were a big part of my childhood so to be able to partner with Panini America even before I was drafted was really exciting to me,” Doncic said in the prepared statement. “I’m proud now to be able to strengthen our relationship and build a close connection with fans and collectors. There is so much going on in the collectibles space and I’m happy to be with them.”
