If you have a long-standing redemption from Panini America, the company will let you trade it in at the National Sports Collectors Convention.
One of the company's priorities at the show running Aug. 1-5 in Cleveland is its "Live Redemption Trade-Up" that will allow those with redemptions more than four months old and still in the company's system to trade them in for something live at the show.
This is the seventh year for the program, which will have a tiered grab-bag breakdown based on book value for their cards.
"For example, a collector holding four outstanding redemption cards with a combined Beckett value of $80 will have the chance to trade-up those four cards for one $100 card via a carefully constructed grab-bag system," the company wrote. "The Panini America Customer Service team has assigned values to replacement stock and will offer grab bags containing one autograph or prime memorabilia card or a box of product at the $50, $100, $150 and $200 levels. While supplies last."
Collectors can choose which sport they want in return (baseball, basketball or football) and some bags will over deliver up to the value of the next tier. In other words, some $50 cards will be valued at as much as $80 and so on. Some will yield boxes, while a few will yield Black Boxes.
Collectors must bring print-outs showing the cards they want to have replaced and they can trade in as much as $400 in cards at the show, while there's a $35 minimum to get in on the program, which will begin on the show's first day.
