Monster season, monster ball.

The baseball that New York Mets rookie Pete Alonso hit for his record-tying 52nd home run this season sold for five figures via MLB Auctions on Sunday.

How much? A cool $27,690 (with $15 more for shipping, of course) after 86 bids in the auction that began on Oct. 2.

Pete Alonso watches his 52nd home run fly on Sept. 27. Watch the video at the link here.

Alonso, a lock to win the National League Rookie of the Year, finished his first season with an MLB record 53 home runs, which topped Aaron Judge's single-season mark set in 2017. They are the only rookies to have hit 50 home runs in a season as Mark McGwire previously held the record with 49 back in 1987.

The ball bounced off the left field wall and back onto the turf of Citi Field after Alonso hit it off of Braves pitcher Dallas Keuchel in the first inning on Sept. 27. Alonso signed and inscribed the ball with "Career HR #52" and "Ties single season rookie HR record."

The Mets donated the net proceeds of the auction to its charitable foundation.
