Do you have a single card or item in your collection that stands out from the rest?

It's often not easy to pick one when looking at a collection that you spent plenty of time (and likely money) building. Is picking just one favorite a challenge that you could take on? Tweet @blowoutbuzz on Twitter (or send an email at the address below) for more info on how you can have your favorite card or item highlighted here on The Buzz. We want to see what makes you tick.

A collector who we have profiled before is our first to take this challenge. Check it out ...

Name: Tanner Jones
Find him at: @tanmanbbfan
Location: Texas
Collects: Jose Canseco

The favorite: 2017 Topps Museum Collection Framed Autographs Wood #MFAJCA Jose Canseco 1/1

Why this matters to me: "Aesthetically speaking, this is more of a work of art than a baseball card. It is completely made of wood, inside of a wood frame, gold-ink signature, gold holo-foil and an awesome picture. ... The wood card is among the most beautiful cards made of Canseco in my opinion, but the entire rainbow is incredible as well. The /5 could have easily made a sweet 1/1, as it is simply gorgeous with its anodized black frame, silver ink and silver holo-foil. The wood card however, absolutely deserves its 1/1 status."

This one's not that simple ... keep reading for more of his story about this card.

Here's that rainbow he mentioned ...

The hunt: "As the 2017 Museum cards were rolled out, I'd check the mock-ups and it didn't appear as though they were using real wood, which I was bummed about. When they finally did come out, I was happy to find out that I was wrong. On high alert, I watched eBay like a hawk, not knowing if it would be pulled in a week, 15 years from now, or ever. Then, it popped. I pulled the Buy-It-Now trigger so fast, I didn't even have a chance to fully appreciate it sitting there on my screen. Shortly thereafter, the card arrived and has been one of my favorites ever since. It was very risky on my part to let the other one go in anticipation of a new one being made [See backstory below -- Buzz.], but looking back on it all, it makes the story behind this card all that much more fun."

The backstory: "A few years back, I was notified of a beautiful 2015 Museum Collection Wood Canseco. The Beckett checklist had marked it as a /3 card, but when it was pulled, there was no mistaking it was a 1/1. I was able to see it pulled on camera and it was a big deal because it was his first one ever. ... I remember reaching out to the owner and going back and forth with him over email for what seemed to be an eternity. (The whole deal took 1.5 hours.) ... I considered it a Top 5-10 card in my collection for as long as I had it. For months, fellow Canseco collector AJ begged and pleaded with me to deal it to him. I'd often just laugh it off, but ultimately we ended up doing a deal. The only reason I considered it was because I was gambling on Topps making another, even though 2016 didn't have one."

Final thought on Playing Favorites: "I have a love-hate relationship with threads started on Blowout Cards Forums that ask you to post your favorite card. My website (www.CansecoCollector.com) shows that I have 169 items in my 'Favorites' category. It would be much easier for me to pick my favorite card (or 10, realistically speaking) from categories such as favorite prototype, favorite 1990s insert, favorite high-end, etc., but for purposes of this, I [went] with one of my all-time overall favorites."
