PSA reveals new Set Registry Achievement Program

Fans of the PSA Set Registry will now have different ways to compete with other collectors as they use the platform.

It's the PSA Set Registry Achievement Program and it "draws inspiration from fantasy sports" and "will challenge existing PSA Set Registry members as well as newcomers in the field to test their mettle in all facets of set collecting and earn points and rewards -- digital medals -- for their efforts."

Visitors to www.PSAcard.com/SetRegistry will find that PSA has opted to add gamification -- "the intent is to reward collectors for reaching various milestones on their way toward building collections."

As part of this, PSA launched a “12 Days of Collecting” promotion that runs through Dec. 22. Each day there will be "one action designated for that day [that] will earn one lucky collector a special reward." For example, today someone needs to offer a screenshot of their designated medal earned that day. By adding a first item, users earn not only a “One Giant Leap” medal but also a chance at a PSA 10 2011 Topps Update Mike Trout card.

There will be similar prizes each day with sports and non-sports cards awarded. The company noted to follow @PSAcard on social media for daily updates.

"I’m a big fan of fantasy sports, so when we devised the outline for this program, we tried to incorporate components of that into our model," PSA President Steve Sloan said. "Hopefully our members will recognize that."
