Russell Wilson just one of the autos in 2018 Bowman Chrome

We've got about a week to go before the arrival of 2018 Bowman Chrome and there's at least one surprise inclusion that you might not expect to see on the checklist.

Autographs of Seattle Seahawks quarterback, err, New York Yankees prospect Russell Wilson.

Long-time baseball collectors probably remember that Wilson did appear on baseball cards in the past after he was a fourth-round pick of the Colorado Rockies back in the 2010 MLB Draft. He played two seasons in Class-A and hit just .229 with five homers and 26 RBI in 93 games before he opted to take on the football field where he's started 98 games over the last seven seasons with the Seattle Seahawks, throwing for 22,700 yards and 166 touchdowns and grabbing a Super Bowl ring.

His MLB rights are now those of the Yankees and Topps has opted to include him among the Chrome prospect autos found in this new release, which arrives next week with a number of top prospects and rookies collectors have come to expect. If they're in the gallery below, they're autographs in the set -- and we'll see them all when the final checklist arrives here soon. >>> UPDATE: Here's the checklist.

Hobby boxes will include two autographs this year, while HTA boxes will include three.
