Sandy Koufax autos coming in National Treasures, Flawless

Brooklyn fans and Los Angeles fans have a new place to find autographs of a Dodgers legend.

Hall of Famer Sandy Koufax has signed his first cards for Panini America, which the company revealed on Thursday. The arrival will come in boxes of 2020 National Treasures baseball cards set to arrive on Nov. 4.

"We’re extremely excited to be able to introduce Sandy Koufax autographs and memorabilia cards to Panini America products," said baseball brand manager Tim Trout in a prepared statement. "We welcome Sandy with open arms and we know his mere presence in our products will be a huge driver for a lot of fans and collectors. It’s not every day you can say that a player addition can really move the needle for high-end products — but Sandy Koufax is not most players. He’s one of the greatest to ever do it."

Koufax, who retired after the 1966 season, won 165 games in just 12 seasons and was elected to the Hall on his first ballot in 1972 after a career that included three Cy Young awards, four World Series rings and two World Series MVPs. He has appeared on more than 3,500 different baseball cards through the years and just over 1,000 of those are certified autographs. While he previously signed for Donruss releases, these cards will mark his first since Panini America returned to baseball in 2011.

A rarer find for him are game-used memorabilia cards -- fewer than 500 different ones have been made through the years -- and NT will include "an extremely limited number" of memorabilia cards, too.

Panini also teased that Koufax will have a presence in 2020 Panini Flawless, which is set to arrive on Nov. 25.
