Shohei Ohtani's 2018 Bowman arrival scorches eBay already

The autographs aren't the only showtime inclusions when it comes to Shohei Ohtani cards found in boxes of 2018 Bowman today.

His basic Rookie Cards, their parallels and, of course, all that ink are commanding more money than you might think, showing us all that the interest in the two-way rookie from Japan is building with every start -- no matter where it's at on the field.

Oh, and there's still that $60,000 offer on the Superfractor in case you pull it, too. (And it's been upped to $70,000 if it's pulled over on BlowoutTV.)

But what about all those new eBay listings?

Auction prices are all over the place with Buy-It-Now asking prices clearly aiming to test the market, while active auctions may or may not be shilled at this point in some cases but are also putting up historic possibilities if they are, indeed, legit auctions. The Blue Chrome auto above that's limited to 150 copies? It's got an asking price of $69,000. (You in?) Meanwhile, an Atomic Refactor auto (/100) that landed on eBay early already has 111 bids (hmm...) and is up to $36,600. Will it get paid for? Only the owner will know when it's over. Asking prices on his standard auto are anywhere between $3,299 BIN and $6,000.

Of course, those are all asking prices. Completed auctions are the ones that matter most -- and we're not there yet here on Opening Day for 2018 Bowman.

But it's not only about autos in this case. Basic Rookie Cards have already been sellers at $17.95 a pop while parallels are also commanding big asking prices -- $999 for a Gold parallel (/50) -- and $500 and up for Blue and Sky Blue parallels with BINs. The Sky Blue card above is an active auction that's already topped $100 on its own and there are 498 other copies like it.

How will these numbers change after Opening Day -- when unopened boxes continue to become rarer and rarer -- because of all this ripping? It should be fun to watch.
