Star Wars takes Topps #TBT cards intergalactic for a new year

There's been a disturbance in the Throwback Thursday Force ...

Topps #TBT will have a new set this year -- starting today -- and it's a release that will continue month-long looks at the past via new cardboard and its solely going to be dedicated to Star Wars. It's the 2023 Throwback Thursday Star Wars Edition Set.

There also will be photo variations and parallels each week.

The #TBT line for baseball launched almost a decade ago now and this new one will be similar and include three cards per week with photo variations coming one in 20 packs. Parallels also are possible and limited to 10 (Bronze), five (Silver) and just one copy (Gold).

This first set? It's a take on the 1952 Topps MLB set and it leads off with Princess Leia, Luke Skywalker and their father, Darth Vader. These will arrive on 18-point Heritage-style card stock. Packs of three cards are $14.99 with discounts for five packs and 10 packs if ordered direct from Topps.com with a seven-day ordering window before a new set arrives.
