Buzz buys and busts a lot of boxes right here for Buzz Breaks, but one of my goals is to rip a little less and talk more about cardboard that I -- and you -- might like. One way to do that? Simple show and tell -- present a few pick-ups and say why they captured my attention.

A HOME RUN OF A SURPRISE
The Card: Hank Aaron 2021 Topps x Sports Illustrated five-pack ... Red (/5) parallel and standard cards (/2,057)
The Price: Direct from Topps ($29.99)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: This was my first grab from this year's SI set since this cover was one I was hoping to see in the release and I decided to take a shot at a five-pack for grading purposes. I was rewarded with one of the rarest parallels to find in one's order. Only the 1/1 is rarer and there are three other colors. (Just 111 parallel cards between all of them.) I've collected a number of cards that have commemorated Aaron's record-breaking home run back in 1974 but never graded any for condition reasons ... I might have two to slab now.

Move over, Honus Wagner, there's a new cardboard icon in the world.

Mike Trout's 2009 Bowman Draft Superfractor set a new all-time sales record for any and all sports cards on Saturday night with the final gavel dropping at $3,936,000 via Runnemde, N.J.-based Goldin Auctions.

The Item: LeBron James 2003-04 Exquisite Collection rookie patch autograph /23 (BGS 9.5/10)
The Price: $800,000 after 21 bids (three weeks remaining)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: The current Goldin Auctions sale includes a number of legendary pieces for Michael Jordan up for grabs, but right now it's a different No. 23 who might be re-writing the record books for some NBA cardboard soon and could become a million-dollar sports card. Early bidding action makes that something in the realm of possibility so far on this LeBron James piece. There were only 23 RPAs made and signed in this landmark release.

For the first time in his big-league career, the biggest-selling star in MLB is headed to the disabled list -- and it's with a torn thumb ligament that needs surgery.

With Mike Trout cards -- particularly his 2009 Bowman Chrome Draft autos -- trading at record highs, there are bound to be some worries. (Here's where it's being discussed over on the Blowout Forums.)

Could this be the type of injury that affects his performance now and in the future? Or is it something that gives collectors a chance to catch their breath and maybe land some big cards cheaper than they might have otherwise been?

He's a 29-year-old, 5-foot-11 second baseman-shortstop who's in his fifth season as a big-leaguer. He's a Minnesota Twin with Defensive Player of the Year and All-Star honors.

He's also a guy who, thanks to a three-homer game last night while batting lead-off, has a career-high 38 homers this season.

He's Brian Dozier -- and he's also not the easiest guy to find on baseball cards.
