Buzz buys and busts a lot of boxes right here for Buzz Breaks, but one of my goals just might be to rip fewer blasters this year and talk more about cardboard that I -- and you -- might like. One way to do that? Simple show and tell -- present a few pick-ups and say why they captured my attention. Would they capture yours? I'd be interested to know -- sometimes they might, sometimes they won't and that's fine. It's a buyer's market out there with plenty of options and bargains as well as high-end gems to chase.

So, with all that said, here are a few Buzz Buys ... and this time around it's another super-sized edition.

BATTING LEAD-OFF ONCE AGAIN 
The Card: Ronald Acuña Jr. 2018 Topps Heritage High Number Rookie Card (BGS 9)
The Price: $14
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: You may think it's a comedy bit with this Atlanta Braves slugger's RC batting lead-off here once again -- and it's not even the first time it's been this card in a slab, just a different company -- but Buzz is still sold on his hobby potential as part of a first-place team loaded with home-grown talent ... and he bats lead-off there, too. There will come a time where the wax will become harder and harder to find so these slabbed versions are always worth a look on the cheaper side in my mind. This also was my first buy for a BGS card without sub-grades -- people tend to price them lower than other cards. This one does have issues with vertical centering but it doesn't bug my eye at all compared to left-right centering issues when those exist. For the price, I'm good here ... and I still miss 1969 Heritage compared to this year.

Brandon Nimmo's path to Major League Baseball and a spot in the New York Mets lineup is far from a traditional one as he grew up in Wyoming where playing high school baseball isn't even an option.

He's a product of American Legion play -- and already a Hall of Famer there -- but that didn't stop him from being taken 13th in the 2011 MLB Draft and making his big-league debut three years ago at age 23. Nimmo, whose first prospect cards can be found in 2011 releases and who has just three Rookie Cards from 2016, was one of the Mets' bright spots last season with 17 homers in 140 games while hitting .263. The homers were third on the team behind Michael Conforto, Todd Frazier and Asdrubal Cabrera ... but that's not why we're here today.

Nimmo led all of MLB with 22 HBPs -- and the ball you see above connected for one last season.

He shut down the Boston Red Sox with 10 strikeouts and just two walks in his gem, which upped his career record to 21-21 as a big-league pitcher.

2016 Panini National Treasures racing hobby box
This one is as high-end as it gets for NASCAR and includes a few notables from beyond stock cars, too, making this bargain price even sweeter. Every box includes a book and has five other hits along with a base or parallel card -- and it's one that this collector has dug in on pretty hard via BlowoutTV group breaks. Check out that story here and then check out the price on this one. (There are cases, too.) Land the right names with some rarer memorabilia or ink combos and your box is covered. Even without the dollar signs in mind, this one is a fun rip with its stacked checklist that's rich in stars from the past and present.

The days of "something for nothing" are as gone as 45-cent wax packs in today's card world, but group breaks via outlets such as BlowoutTV can offer up some surprises.

Particularly when high-end products go lower-end in price -- or at least as low as they can go -- and that's where group breaks help out a lot.

One such example? The 2016 Panini National Treasures release, which is selling at less than half of its original price -- but with plenty of the big cards still in there as they were when it was packed out last year.

Three legendary cards in 2016 Panini National Treasures have a mistake -- and Panini America will fix them for a collector who finds one.

One is a NFL Gear Quads Laundry Tag of four legendary quarterbacks -- Peyton Manning, Dan Marino, Tom Brady and John Elway. The mistake occurred during production as the card's labeling should indicate that some of the players' tags are from player-used and not game-worn jerseys.

"We are disappointed the error occurred, but it was truly an honest mistake with no intention of trying to mislead our customers," reads a statement from the company. "All other parallel levels of these cards do contain game-worn material, and this mistake occurred because the laundry tag reservations from the player-worn jerseys were missed when routing the cards for approval. Obviously, this is something that we will be more diligent about in the future."

Replacing Edwards in the No. 19 Toyota of Joe Gibbs Racing is Daniel Suarez, who's already made a little history in recent months before becoming the newest rookie in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series.
