LIMITED & LEGENDARY
The Item: Hank Aaron 2021 Topps Definitive Collection Defining Season autograph (/10)
The Price: $1,999.99 Buy-It-Now (or best offer)
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: The former all-time home run king was a steady low-volume signer for Topps and the high-end release that dropped today included these cards with on-card sigs and a clean, simple design that showcases the photo and ink quite well. We won't be seeing him in a lot of future releases after his death in late January but I suspect there will be some other appearances to come. (I don't think we'll be seeing any big volume of autographs on stickers to come, either, as I believe I was previously told he had stopped doing stickers due to vision issues years ago. But I could be wrong.) So far, he's got a good volume of sigs here and in Heritage -- and now is the time to grab them. Demand won't be lessened later.

The Item: Akil Baddoo 2018 Bowman Chrome Blue Prospect Autograph (/150)
The Price: $149.95 Buy-It-Now 
Why it’s Buzz-worthy: I didn't do a price check here to see how they have been selling or whether others out there right now are higher or lower ... but I did look at Baddoo's stat line this spring for the Detroit Tigers -- he's hitting .357 (10-for-28) with four homers and nine RBI in 15 games along with 11 runs and eight walks. Throw in two stolen bases and only nine strikeouts and that's one of the more-interesting spring showings right now ... from a guy who's likely nowhere near the radar of many or perhaps even sitting in some of your old ripped boxes. This 22-year-old former second-round pick has hit only .249 in four past MiLB seasons with one of his better years (2018) being one that had 11 homers ... but 124 strikeouts in 113 games. (Yikes.) It seems like there's some big improvement here, though he's not played above advanced-A ball. He could be a from-out-of-nowhere kind of player if he sticks with the Tigers and that appears to be a possibility. I wouldn't over-pay for his cards but he's worth watching ... remember Randy Arozarena last year? Basically half of Baddoo's cards are certified autos since his cardboard arrival in 2017 and he's found with ink in this one as well as 2018 Elite Extra Edition and Panini Contenders and then 2019 Bowman Sterling. That's it.

This one is a new department here on The Buzz ... Fast Five -- a quick list under a simple topic that might offer a basic starting point for a themed collection. It's a basic list of five items that could be fun for a starting collector or a new way to add to a stash that might already seemingly include everything when it comes to cardboard. For some of you, it's probably common sense. For others of you out there, it's perhaps something to ponder.

This time? Five upcoming products on Buzz's mind right now.

ONE OF THE GO-TO RELEASES ...
Dropping March 3: 2021 Topps Heritage baseball cards
While standard Topps is the flagship release for pretty much all of collecting, for the last 21 years this one has been a highlight and a staple for many who enjoy things oldschool but with the chases of today and plenty of nods to the days that were so much different than they are now. I've said it before, but the 1970s perhaps won't be as fun for some Heritage fans -- I'm speaking for myself here but others may agree -- but the 1972 Topps set is one that has some weirdness that works. (And it's better than most of what might follow it for Heritage.) This set is one that gets a ride this year ... so here's hoping that beget all that and more. The Relics look like they could be interesting this year but that's just one thing to look for. Now is the time to be watching the boxes and get those pre-orders in, too, as peoples' attention might be on other sports or flagship that arrives before this one.
