The borders are back with 2020 Bowman -- and some of the biggest possible prospects are signing on, too, to make this upcoming release arguably one of the hottest pre-orders of the year already.

Yesterday's big, big behind-the-scenes reveal? New York Yankees prospect Jasson Dominguez, an international signee who will turn 17 next week and play his first season as a pro this summer, signed for 2020 Bowman with this image released by Topps. (Update: It has since confirmed it's absolutely 2020 Bowman.) He enters the minor-league ranks at No. 38 overall on Baseball America's annual Top 100 prospects list -- that's No. 1 among players in the Yankees' system. (The others are pitchers Clarke Schmidt and Deivi Garcia.)

The switch-hitting outfielder was called “a teenage Mike Trout” in this piece by MLB.com and he topped its Top 30 Prospects list there, too, after he signed a $5.1 million deal with the Yankees. (Read more on him here.)

StockX's venture into graded trading cards has a new element as of right now.

It's the first trading card IPO on the platform -- 2019 Bowman Chrome X baseball cards -- and boxes of this limited release are live. There are five-box cases already active, too.

There is no suggested retail price for this initial product offering. Instead, the market lets the bidders set the price for these boxes after they sign up for a StockX account.

Each and every box of 2019 Bowman Chrome X new from Topps contains a PSA 9 or PSA 10 Green X-Fractor rookie or prospect card inside -- and each of them is serial-numbered to just 31 copies from a lineup of just 100 players selected to appear in this release.

Here's a look at the top five players on this week's Baseball America Top MLB Prospects Hot Sheet and their seasons so far. It's a little something to help those who might want to dabble with prospecting -- some basics on their baseball cards alongside a highlight line from those more scouting-minded. We may not do this every week, but we'll check in on BA's top crop from time to time for the remainder of the season.

1. Wander Franco, SS, Rays — Class A MiLB Charlotte Stone Crabs
Baseball America’s highlight line: “After scorching the Midwest League for half a season, the Rays promoted Franco to high Class A on June 25. In five games, he has walked as many times (four) as he’s swung and missed. He’s also scored as many times as he’s swung and missed. He’s got six more hits than he has swings and misses. He’s younger than every player on this year’s USA Baseball's Collegiate National Team, and he’s already in the Florida State League. If the start to his tenure with Charlotte is any indication, he’s going to have no trouble reaching Double-A just after turning 19 years old."

CARDBOARD BASICS

Buzz’s card take: Nearly half of his cards are autographs yet there's still plenty of demand -- and if you somehow don't know his name the ship has sailed on sleeper/bargain cards. He's easily among the top prospects in baseball and Baseball America had him fourth heading into this season. He's hitting .335 with 17 doubles, five triples, eight homers and 35 RBI in 67 games this season -- not quite as strong as last season in rookie ball at 17. The age is the thing here and if he improves quickly as he advances at a young age he's worth the big bucks being paid for his cards. The good news is that there's a lot to choose from if you're hunting them. I didn't find that highlight line to be all that overwhelming -- I get it, he doesn't swing and miss -- but his stats also weren't as crazy as I had expected when I checked them.

1. Deivi Garcia, RHP, Yankees — Double-A Trenton Thunder
Baseball America’s highlight line: “Garcia continued one of the best seasons by a pitching prospect by spinning a masterpiece against Richmond. He struck out the first eight batters and was in complete control the rest of the way. The performance boosted his strikeouts per nine innings to 15.1, the best in the minors among qualified starters. It also tied the Trenton franchise record for strikeouts in a game, which was set by Adam Warren in 2010."

Buzz’s card take: You may remember seeing this guy here about a year ago and nothing has ultimately changed on the cardboard front. He's just 20 and rising in the minors so that cardboard should be coming at some point. He's 3-4 with a 3.02 ERA and a ridiculous 100 strikeouts in 59-plus innings pitched this season so there should be some serious demand once that first ink hits. His few MiLB team sets should be watched right now, too. (There's next to nothing on eBay right now for him.)

Season so far: 1-4 with 5.13 ERA, 65 strikeouts and 20 walks in 54.1 innings (12 starts)
Baseball America’s highlight line: “Rogers has worked six or more innings in his last three starts, culminating with Sunday’s gem, where he struck out a career-best 12 batters and carried a no-hitter into the eighth inning."
CARDBOARD BASICS

First Chrome auto: 2017 Bowman Draft
One auto to consider: 2016 Leaf Metal Perfect Game
Buzz’s card take: His season numbers look a little LaLooshian but he was the 13th overall pick in last year's draft and he's on the Marlins so they'll take it -- and the potential. The recent games look relatively solid, so if you're sold on the potential of a Marlins pitcher then you might want to bite.
