With these Ticket Stud or Ticket Dud stories I'm turning just a tiny bit of that energy just a few degrees away from cards (we'll still have plenty of them here) for a different kind of cardboard. What am I doing? Major League Baseball is a global game -- and Topps knows it with two versions of Shohei Ohtani's first Topps Now baseball card.

The card is one one 15 available today and it's got one in English and one with kanji to commemorate his MLB debut Thursday in Oakland. He recorded a hit in his first big-league at-bat and that's the play captured on both cards.

The cards will only initially be available via Topps for 24 hours and will be printed to order after that ordering window closes. He previously set a new sales record for the real-time card platform and this one could spark another.
